Miscreants decamp with valuables worth Rs 30 lakh from shop
Two persons with revolver commit burglary
Miscreants have made away with Rs 30 lakh worth valuables from a jeweller at gun point in the city on Tuesday. The incident that occurred in broad daylight has sent the police into a tizzy.
The incident occurred at Royal Jewels on Sahukar Channaiah road, T K Layout in the city around 9 am.
Raju a worker of the shop opened the door of the shop in the morning. Little did he know that he was stealthily followed by two youth into the shop. The miscreants threatened Raju at gun point before tying his hand and legs.
Frightened Raju handed over the keys to the intruders. They sweeped the valuables in the showcase estimated to cost about Rs 30 lakh. Before decamping, they pushed Raju into a room and gagged him.
The incident came to light when the owner Jagadish arrived at the shop at 9.30 am. He was shocked to find Raju in that state and informed Saraswatipuram police.
What has surprised the police is, CCTV cameras installed in the shop had remained off at that time.  Fast food mobile shops are located in a stone’s throw away from the shop and the traders are not aware of any such happenings. They have taken Raju into custody and interrogating. Finger print experts and dog squad were summoned to the spot.
Police commissioner K L Sudheer, DCP (crime and traffic) K P Bheemaiah, Inspector N S Chandrashekar visited the spot.
