If you are looking for an exciting summer getaway, then Panambur beach could be one of your destinations. Panambur Beach Development Project is all pepped up to receive people looking for an escapade with an exciting boat ride to spot dolphins and those who prefer a relaxing evening can spend the night in the beach tents put up on the shore.

Nine air-conditioned tents with attached toilets and bath facilities have been put up for people seeking to spend a night on the pristine shores.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, Panambur Beach Development Project CEO Yatish Baikampady said that over-night stay facilities will give a boost for beach tourism. It is a perfect getaway from the hustle-bustle of city life.

The tents are pitched on wooden platforms to comply with CRZ rules which does not allow permanent structures on the sea shore. People are provided with complimentary breakfast and can enjoy delicious sea-food delicacies from the food-shacks that are put up on the beach. People can book their stay online. However, the tents will be brought-down during the onset of monsoon, he said.

Dolphin Safari

When Dolphin Safari was introduced last year, it created a huge buzz among people. Now, Dolphin Safari is one of the main attractions of Panambur beach.

The ride starts early morning and people are taken into the deep sea. Yatish said that dolphins are usually spotted during this time of the season. "At present, one can spot a minimum of three dolphins," he said.

People taken on the rides are also taken near to fish trawlers, who demonstrate deep-sea fishing, he added.

Horse carriage

Instead of walking to the beach, one can opt to ride royally on a horse-drawn carriage. The carriage which will be a new addition and may start off before April end. Yatish Baikampady said that the carriage is already built and a pair of horses will be brought from Mumabi.

The carriage can accommodate 11 people and the rides will be feasibly charged. "We are starting off with one carriage and may add more, if the concept picks up. Our target audience is children, who may be thrilled with the ride," he added.

Huge crowds

Activities at the beach are at the peak during summer as people throng the golden shores in large numbers. This year, the beach authority has put up merry-go-rounds and other dry rides on the shore for children. For those who want to have an adrenaline rush can speed off on jet-skis and banana rides. Yatish Baikampady added that there are plans to organise food festivals on the beach this summer.

"We are planning to have coastal cuisines and sea-food delicacies as the main highlight," he said.
