Celebrities and politicians took to microblogging site Twitter to congratulate the Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who was chosen for Bharat Ratna hours after retiring from international cricket today.

Sachin will be the first sportsman to be bestowed with the country’s highest civilian honour. Bharat Ratna awardee and nightingale of India Lata Mangeshkar, die-hard Sachin fan Aamir Khan and politicians including BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi and others poured their love on the cricketing legend.
