Print MANGALORE: Very soon the new third phase project of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) may be inaugurated by the Prime Minister or Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.
Union minister for petroleum and natural gas M Veerappa Moily said that the third phase of MRPL set up at an approximate cost of Rs 30,000 crore will be inaugurated soon. "We are expecting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi to inaugurate the third phase of MRPL," he said.
The ministry has plans to open several mega projects for downstream products of MRPL, which requires a huge investment to the tune of Rs 80,000 crore, Moily said. "We have held two meetings in this regard in New Delhi and within 15 days a road show will be held in Mumbai to attract investors for the projects, which would create about five lakh employment opportunity," he added.
