Different groups on Facebook are now promoting jobs for this particular event. For example, one post on UAE part times jobs group on FB says a company is looking for female promoters for the event for four days but the timings can be long. You will be required to work 11am to 10pm for Dh1600.

Another group on the same site - student part time jobs – also has job options for the event that is to start next week. Job posts have been uploaded for female promoters with prior Gitex work experience. Here, the timings are relatively better with eight hours of work being required to put in by the individual. However, the pay is Dh1000 for the four day event.

“Applicants must be presentable, multilingual and have good communication skills,” the post reads. Such part time jobs have also been listed on various job websites.

The Gitex Shopper has many big brands feature in the exhibitors list. Prominent names like Acer, Axiom Telecom, Dell, Hewlett Packard, Jacky’s Electronics, Jumbo Electronics, Lenovo Middle East, Plug Ins, Samsung Gulf Electronics and Sharaf DG among many others will have their presence at the event.

With a bit of extra money, you could be working with one of these big names, adding weight to your CV for future job opportunities.

Gitex Shopper is the region’s biggest and best consumer electronics retail platform with power retailers and world class brands. There are two editions of the show - one in Spring and one in Autumn.

Tickets are priced Dh15 per person, per entry. Tickets will be available at the venue and from select Emarat outlets in Dubai.

The show is open to the public. Entrance for children below the age of 5 years is free.
