Nursery Student Allegedly Raped in Bangalore School

Print Bangalore: A three-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at a private school in Bangalore on Tuesday.
The police say the child, a nursery student, seems to have been attacked in school as she was "cheerful when she went to school and was upset when she came home."
On a complaint from the child’s father, the police have registered a case of rape.
The third incident of a child being sexually assaulted in school in the IT city in the last four months has sparked fresh outrage. Several parents were seen outside the school this morning, demanding that the management come out and explain.
According to the complaint, the girl was crying when her mother picked her up from the school in Jalahalli on Tuesday afternoon, and she was "not behaving normally and had symptoms of fever."
The girl reportedly told her mother that someone beat her in school. Later, her parents realized she was sexually abused, the police said. The child has been medically examined.
Bangalore police commissioner MN Reddy has reportedly visited the school and ordered an investigation. CCTV footage is being examined and employees are being questioned.
Schools across Bangalore were ordered to put in place safety measures including CCTV cameras after incidents of rape that brought angry parents and others to the streets in protest.
In July, Bangalore witnessed days of protest after a six-year-old was raped at the Vibgyor High School. Two gym instructors were arrested and the school’s chairman was also arrested for neglecting basic checks and precautions; a month later, an eight-year-old’s abuse by a 70-year-old part-time teacher surfaced.
