P. Rajendra Prasad, Superintendent of Police, said on Friday that a letter written by 13-year-old girl Eshika Shetty, who went missing from the Sharada Residential School here on November 15, to television actor Faisal Khan in Mumbai, has been received by him.
In the note she had left behind here, Eshika had written that she liked the actor. Mr. Prasad told that Mr. Khan had informed the district police he had received the letter from the girl on Friday. A team of the district police is in Mumbai to trace the girl. “We have no clues about her whereabouts as yet. We suspect that she must be in Mumbai as she wanted to be a child artiste in films,” he said.
Two held with gold
The customs officials on Friday arrested two passengers at the Mangalore International Airport for allegedly smuggling 699 g of gold by concealing it in their rectum.
A press note said the officials found Azees Sulaiman (37) of Kasaragod with 233.3 g of gold bars wrapped in condom and concealed in his rectum. He was found walking with some discomfort. He landed at the airport by Air India Express flight from Dubai around 8 a.m.
Later the officials checked Abdul Hameed Muttathody (42), also from Kasaragod and found carrying a 466.6 g gold cylindrical rod concealed in a similar fashion. Muttathody also arrived at the airport by the same flight.
Investigations were on to find persons allegedly behind this smuggling, the release added.
