Smaaash Mumbai Cricket Challenge begins

‘Country’s biggest open cricket tournament with the highest prize of Rs 15 Lakh’

Mumbai, March 2015: While the Men in Blue pad-up to defend their title, Mumbai will witness its biggest cricketing tournament at Smaaash, as the country’s premiere Urban Sports Park has rolled out the ‘Smaaash Mumbai Cricket Challenge’. Cricket has enjoyed a prominent position in the sporting history of Mumbai city which has produced a number of skilled cricketers, who have gone on to achieve great laurels. To continue unearthing good cricketing talent from Mumbai city and applaud them, the winners of the Smaaash Mumbai Cricket Challenge will be rewarded by the cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar at a post tournament ceremony.

The challenge will involve over a month of cricketing action, where enthusiasts can form a team of 6 (5 + 1 substitute - all batsmen) to participate. Registration fee will be Rs.2000/- per team (6 member team). The tournament format is divided into 2 rounds. In the first round you play against Smaaash’s unique cricket simulator. The top 64 teams in each of the 2categories (Men’s County and Men’s amateur) depending on their score will move to the knock-out stage where they will play against an opposing team as per the draw.

The Smaaash Mumbai Cricket Challenge is one of the biggest open tournaments with the highest prize money in the country. The winners, runners up and 3rd place of the Challenge Finals will be awarded prizes worth INR 5,00,000, 3,00,000 and 2,00,000 respectively for the Men’s County Category while in the Men’s amateur category the prize money will be INR 1,00,000, 50,000 and 25,000
