State Governor calls for institutional and community preparedness to tackle disaster.

Mumbai May 25 :  Observing that drastic climate change and changing weather patterns have increased the frequency and intensity of disasters in recent years, State Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao today called for improving institutional and community preparedness to limit the damage caused by such disasters.

Recalling the instances of the earthquake in Nepal, floods in Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand, the Malin tragedy near Pune and the unseasonal rains in Maharashtra, the Governor said every organization and housing society should have a functioning disaster management system in place. He added that there should be a regulator to monitor and certify the readiness of an institution to tackle disaster.

The Governor was speaking after inaugurating a training programme on disaster preparedness ‘Avhan’ at Birla Matishree Sabhagriha in Mumbai.

The SNDT Women’s University is hosting the programme this year. In all 1050 NSS volunteers and 70 programme officers from all parts of the State will be undergoing the 10-day training programme to be conducted by the National Disaster Response Force in Mumbai during 25 May and 3 June.

Stating that community is the first responder in any disaster situation, the Governor expressed the need for creating awareness among citizens through disaster management education and training. The Governor called for inculcating disaster responsive public behaviour among the people.

Vice Chancellor Vasudha Kamat delivered the welcome address while State Liaison officer of the National Service Scheme Dr Atul Salunke apprised the gathering about the training programme.

काँग्रेस आज साजरी करणार ‘अच्छे दिन’ची पहिली पुण्यतिथी!

मोदी सरकारने केलेल्या विश्वासघाताचा प्रतिकात्मक निषेध

मुंबई, दि. 25 मे 2015:

पंतप्रधान श्री नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी लोकसभा निवडणुकीत दिलेल्या आश्वासनांचा भंग केल्याच्या निषेधार्थ महाराष्ट्र प्रदेश काँग्रेस कमिटी केंद्र सरकारच्या वर्षपूर्तीला दि. 26 मे 2015 रोजी ‘अच्छे दिन’ची पहिली पुण्यतिथी साजरी करून प्रतिकात्मक निषेध नोंदविणार आहे.

लोकसभा निवडणुकीत मोदी सरकारने जनतेला दिलेली आश्वासने पूर्ण केली नाहीत किंवा ती पूर्ण करण्याच्या दिशेने पावले देखील टाकली नाहीत. त्यामुळे जनतेमध्ये प्रचंड आक्रोश आहे. ‘अच्छे दिन’च्या पुण्यतिथीच्या माध्यमातून जनतेचा हा असंतोष मोदी सरकारपर्यंत पोहोचविला जाईल. या कार्यक्रमांतंर्गत राज्यातील सर्व प्रमुख शहरे व गावांमध्ये सकाळी 11 वाजता मोदी सरकारच्या निवडणुकीतील घोषणांच्या होर्डिंगला हार घालून ‘अच्छे दिन’ला प्रतिकात्मक आदरांजली अर्पण केली जाईल. त्यानंतर काँग्रेस पदाधिकारी व कार्यकर्त्यांचे शिष्टमंडळ जिल्हाधिकारी आणि तहसिलदारांना भेटून पंतप्रधान श्री नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या नावे लिहिलेले स्मरणपत्र सोपवतील. या पत्रामध्ये मोदी सरकारने निवडणुकीपूर्वी दिलेल्या व आजवर अपूर्ण असलेल्या आश्वासनांचा समावेश असेल.

मोदी सरकारने निवडणुकीपूर्वी पेट्रोल-डिझेल-गॅस स्वस्त करणार, जीवनावश्यक वस्तुंची महागाई रोखणार, दरवर्षी 2.5 कोटी रोजगार निर्मिती करणार, विदेशातील काळा पैसा 100 दिवसात परत आणणार, त्यातून प्रत्येक भारतीयाच्या खात्यात 15 लाख रूपये जमा करणार, शेतीच्या उत्पादन खर्चावर 50 टक्के नफा मिळवून देणार, पिकांच्या किमान समर्थन मूल्यामध्ये वाढ करणार, दुष्काळग्रस्त शेतक-यांना अभूतपूर्व मदत करणार, औषधे स्वस्त करणार, पाकिस्तानने भारताच्या एका सैनिकाची हत्या केल्यास त्यांच्या 10 सैनिकांना ठार करून प्रत्युत्तर देणार, दहशतवादाविरोधात कठोर कारवाई करणार, चीनला वठणीवर आणणार अशी अनेक आश्वासने दिली होती. या आश्वासनांची अद्याप पूर्तता झाली नसल्याची बाब काँग्रेस जनतेच्या निदर्शनास आणून देणार आहे.
