Universal Peace Federation (UPF) honours Bobby Chemmanur as the ‘Universal Ambassador of Peace’

Bangalore, June 2, 2015 : Mr Bobby Chemmanur, Chairman and Managing Director of Chemmanur International Group has been awarded the prestigious “Universal Ambassador of Peace” bestowed by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in the 16th South Asia Peace Initiative (SAPI) – International Leadership Conference. The award was presented by Mr Dr. Thomas G. Walsh - President, UPF International and Dr. Charles S. Yang - Chairman, UPF, in the presence of distinguished dignitaries. Known for his socially responsible activations, Mr Chemmanur gets this award for successfully completing an 812 kilometre marathon that aimed at creating the world’s largest blood bank.

Sharing the honour with the citizens of India, and as the new ‘Universal Ambassador of Peace’, Mr Bobby Chemmanur said, “I feel extremely honoured for receiving this award.  This award puts more responsibility on my shoulders to discharge my duty as a responsible citizen. Thanks to organisations like UPF that have been encouraging and acknowledging such outreach programmes. The response from the locals has been quite overwhelming. It is this synergy from the people of Kerala that made this outreach successful while reaching millions. In the continuation of this effort, we are also planning charitable measures like ambulance, wheelchairs and financial help for medical emergencies with reputed doctors’ intervention of the state. We are also planning a home under the Chemmanur Life Vision Charitable Trust for the orphans."

While acknowledging Mr. Chemmaur as a role model to the entire world, Dr.Thomas G. Walsh(President, UPF International) & Dr.Charles S.
