Moodbidri: Two BJP leaders from the city have filed complaints after they received life threats through Facebook messages.
 
The leaders in the messages received have been warned that they would have to pay with their lives for attempting to create a divide between Hindus and Muslim through dirty politics.
 
According to the complaint filed, the messages were sent on October 20 through a Facebook account named Mangalore Express News.
 
The recipients, BJP Dakshina Kannada district vice president, KP Jagadish Adhikari and member of the district BJP executive, Sudarshan M said that the message was posted with the name of Muslim Friends.
 
The message sent was as follows: “If you continue to play political gimmicks by creating enmity between Hindus and Muslims by spreading hatred among Hindus through communalism and inciting innocent people, our aim will be to eliminate selfish persons like you. Communal elements from the town will be our next target.”
 
The complaint stated that the messages were sent in an attempt to disrupt harmony between Hindus and Muslims.
 
Several Hindu leaders have condemned the threat and have criticized the lethargic response by the police. They added that previously a case was filed against Bhuvit Shetty, a Bajarang Dal activist for his tweet Kalburgi.

Abhayachandra Jain receives threat call from Ravi Poojary?

Moodabidri: Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Fisheries Abhayachandra Jain has reportedly received threat calls from a person claiming to be Ravi Poojary.
 
The Minister received the internet call on Saturday, October 24 afternoon.
 
The caller accused the Minister of being involved in Prashanth Poojary murder case and threatened to kill him.
 
When the Minister said that he had no role to play in the murder, the caller insisted that both Jain and Ramanath Rai were involved in the murder case.
 
The caller spoke in Hindi and English. Jain complained to the police in the evening.
 
Jain is also said to have informed the CM and the Home Minister about the call.
 
Police commissioner Murugan visited Jain’s house later in the evening. Extra security has been provided to the minister’s house after the complaint.
