Steven Spielberg calls  Sandip Soparrkar "Indian Dancer" on the red carpet of Cannes film festival

The most talked about Cannes film festival began with an aplomb on 11th May in the French Riviera. Many popular films are being premiered at the ongoing 69th Cannes film festival and a lot of world famous faces are making their presence felt on the red carpet.

Celebrated Indian dancer-choreographer Sandip Soparrkar who is at Cannes representing the Indian dance and Bollywood industry too made his red carpet appearance on Saturday 14th May.

Soparrkar swayed in wearing a Deepak Shah designed black and grey tuxedo matched with a red bow tie to see Steven Spielberg film "The BFG" which was being premiered at the Grand Theatre Lumiere. We overheard the oscar winning director Spielberg look at Sandip post his red carpet walk and say "Indian Dancer". Sandip graciously wished the director and looked completely thrilled by being recognised by the world-renowned filmmaker.

Being spotted on the red carpet and being recognised for one’s work are two different things, it is sure a moment of pride for the graceful dancer as well as for the Indian dance scene for being acknowledged by world renowned person like Steven Spielberg.

Every year Cannes Film Festival brings some of the world’s famous movie stars and filmmakers together under one roof and this time, Cannes red carpet has witnessed some of the stars coming out in numbers dressed in their finest, sheer gowns and daringly high-slit skirts. And a  new face has been added to the Indian contingent at the Cannes Film Festival this year. After Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor, the latest entrant is the television actress Avika Gor and Actor Manish Raisinghani was seen at the festival’s opening and launch their short movie poster. Beginning with the most awaited stars, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who marked her 15th year at the Cannes Film Festival with a touch of elegance and grace in a golden Ali Younes Couture gown. Red lips, red nails completed her glamorous look and fashionista Sonam Kapoor picked a dramatic white gown for her first red carpet appearance at the Cannes Film Festival this year. And on the other hand, Actress Avika Gor was looking gorgeous in her new and exciting avatar after a long time and becoming the bell of the Cannes in her floor length Blue, one sided ball gown with less jewellery add to that a pair of natural nude shaded lips, eyes with sparkling make-up, her new short hair look which was curled to perfection added to her classy and cute avatar. And talking about Actor Manish Raisinghani the heartthrob is looking super hot in his black tuxedo with red bow tie charming away the crowd and photographers with his playful and fun nature. Both seem to be having a lot of fun with the people there interacting with the fans and the crowd flaunting their popular pinky finger gesture thus showing not just Bollywood but also Indian Television is at its popular best worldwide.

Actress Avika Gor and Actor Manish Raisinghani were seen at the Cannes Film Festival where they were here to represent the short film which has been selected for the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival 2016 "Ankahee Baatein" stars Manish Raisinghani and Barkha Bisht while Avika Gor is the Creative Director of the movie which is Directed by Manav Bhinder. And to do a grand  poster launch of their other two short films.

Ever since, the versatile actor Prashant Narayanan has acted in different films with varied themes, it is these mean negative shaded characters, which have won him critical accolades, as there is certain ease with which he plays them. Quiz him on playing another mean role and he says, “Fredrick is an extremely special film. My character has violent shades but has far greater depth. His reactions are out of love and angst.”

He has no qualms about working with a first time Director. “There was a volatile energy on the sets of the film. What I like about newcomer directors is that they don’t come with fixed notions on the sets. There was a volatile energy & Rajesh was very clear of what he wanted. As a director he brings lot of freshness throughout the film”.

Prashant is also very happy with the Music of the film that has garnered a lot of appreciation. “Waqt Gaya Tham” sung by KK is his personal favourite. “I confess that I have blackmailed and pressurized my director Rajesh Butalia who has also written the lyrics of this song and composed beautifully by Music Director Sunjoy Bose, to picturise this song on me” Coming from a theatre background working with newcomers was always a learning experience as they were came out as extremely confident and talented delivering some memorable performances in the film.

“I have played many roles in different cinema but Fredrick has something which is unusually different. You will not be disappointed by this, concludes the actor”.Produced by Manish Kalaria and Directed by Rajesh Butalia, starring Prashant Narayanan and newcomers Avinash Dhyani and Tulna Butalia, is slated for an All-India release on May 27th 2016

SANDIP SOPARRKAR TRAINS SONALI RAUT & YUVRAAJ PARASHAR FOR A PASSIONATE SALSA DANCE FOR LOVE LIFE & SCREWUPS!!!

Dance Guru Sandip Soparrkar is training Bigg Boss 8 contestant Sonali Raut and internationally acclaimed Dunno Y fame actor, Yuvraaj Parashar for a passionate salsa dance number for the most awaited web series, Love Life & Screw Ups!!! Sandip Soparrkar who rarely choreographs for films, agreed to be part of this song as he fell in love with the concept of the series. Also the vibrant energy of both the actors inspired him to compose some really difficult but fresh and never seen dance steps for both of them. According to the writer and director Kapil Kaustubh Sharma, it is an intense romantic and passionate salsa dance number, which leads to love making between Sonali and Yuvraaj. In the series, Yuvraaj is playing a salsa dance teacher and Sonali his student. Sonali, who debuted in films with Himesh Reshamiya’s Exposed is very excited to join the ensemble cast of this series. Yuvraaj has been under rigorous weight training, as in this song he is going to bare his torso.

Incidentally, yesteryears diva, Zeenat Aman is making her debut on digital with this series. It also stars Mita Vashisht, Dolly Thakore, Kapil Kaustubh Sharma, Diandra Soares, Sushant Divgikar, Akshay Sethi along with new faces Vibhoutee Sharma, Sezal Sharma, Rj Shadab Khan, Shipra Kasana, Mahi Sharma, Ashish Khatri, Ashish Sachdeva, Umesh Pherwani, Riyaz Qureshi and Ruchita Tahiliani. Music is by Nikhil Kamath. Bappi Lahiri has composed a peppy track for the series.

It is a feel good romantic comedy about relationships. The look is grand and glamorous. It is Bollywood’s first web series with huge production values and popular actors. In the social networking sites, there is already a curiosity about it. The first look of the series will be launched in New York in June.
