MANGALURU: You no longer have to call and place your night canteen order. You can use the app Wayfoo developed by students’ at NIT-K, Surathkal to save time. .
The start-up Wayfoo Private Ltd is incubated at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka - Science & Technology Entrepreneurs Park (NITK-STEP). .
"When a group of friends went to a nearby hotel in Surathkal, they noticed it took a lot of time to order and get the food. There, we came up the idea to use technology and save time. The result was Wayfoo," said Gautam Dev Chowdary, CEO & co-founder, Wayfoo. .
The team includes Shrukul Habib, product developer; Ameen M, design head; Sabari Ram, CMO & co-founder and Amit Wadatkar, CTO. They are final-year students of mechanical and computer cience engineering. .
Gautam said one can pre-order food and pay the amount through the app and go to the canteen or restaurant and collect it. "One has multiple options to choose from and each restaurant has a live menu and ordering has never been easier. This app will help those have very little time for tea/ lunch/ dinner breaks."
The app was launched around 10 days ago and so far, 500 people have downloaded it on the NIT-K, Surathkal campus. Currently, the start-up has tied up with night canteens on NIT-K on a pilot basis.
"On an average, 100-150 students use it on a regular basis and we aim to increase it to 4,000," he said.
The group added they are targeting canteens in colleges, IT companies and self-service restaurants across cities.

All those plot or field owners shhould not leave plots unplanted. Can be rented out or for free use.
Any household without atleast one, vegetable patch, or a flowerbed, medicinal plants, chicken cages, a fish pond, and a dog, milking domesticated animals, should be fined. What sayest thou Peter?
