Udupi: 12th November 2017. Gulshan, a children organization, working towards the children ages 5 -13 to shape their future to serve our nation better and make them asthe best citizen to help all human beings. Gulshan organized plantation week to create awareness about the benefits of the trees in our life and conservation of the natural resources.

During this week, the children have participated in several competitions such as selfie with oldest trees, asurvey of the trees in their area, setting mini garden in their home, details of leaves. On 12th November around 75 children and their parents participated in the concluding program held at Jamia Masjid, Udupi.

All children have enthusiastically taken participation in the drawing, craft competitions. Children also participated in pick and speech competitions.  Mr. Jeevan Shetty, Deputy Regional Forest officer, Udupi has kindly graced as the chief guest in the concluding program and distributed the prizes to all winners.

During his address, he stressed all the children and parents to grow minimum two trees in their lifetime. He also emphasized the importance of trees and water for our life and environment. Dr. Abdul Ajees, Associate Professor, Manipal University, and Mr. Abdul AzeezUdyavara, Executive Board Member, Okkutta Muslim Organization, Udupi also addressed the gathering.

Mrs.ShahidaRiyaz welcomed the audience, Mrs.Surayya presented the vote of thanks, and Mrs. Meharunisa Manipal is the organizer of the plantation week.
