Print University College plans to develop ‘Green Library’ - Garden donated by PTA was inaugurated
Mangalore, September 15, 2018: The moral support of parents is badly needed for the children who face more problems in this competitive world. They can learn to face difficulties by staying together in tough situations, said University College, Mangalore Principal Dr. Uday Kumar M. A.
Addressing the gathering in annual Parents-Teacher Association meeting at Ravindra Kalabhavana of the college here on Saturday he defined the college as the centre of knowledge. Because of this special power itself, the institution could retain and develop in these 150 years and also added, “We have the plan of developing ‘Green library’ and auditorium of higher capacity in coming years”, he added.
Speaking in the PTA meeting, one of the parents said that the college has student-friendly teachers and supportive to the overall development of the students. But, there should be more publicity. Another parent opined that the college timing and its location is helpful to the frontier areas of the town.
Parents Teacher Association (PTA) Working President Anupama Ananthamurthy hailed the Principal for starting uniform culture, ‘Anna Dhana’ (mid-day meal) and ‘Vidhya Dhana’ (serve education). Meanwhile, Dr. Ganapati Gowda of Department of History and other seniors formed new working committee.
Earlier, a garden donated by the Parents-Teachers Association was inaugurated in front of the college library. The association also donated shelves to keep 95 annual reports to the library.
Dr. Rajalaxmi read the annual report of the association. Vice President Jagannath Shetty, Treasurer Prof. Aruna Kumari, office-bearers, Student-Welfare Committee Vice President Dr.Harish, Dr. Veerabhadrappa of Computer Science department, Dr. Anusooya Rai were present among others.
