Day light burglary in Udupi city, former worker snaps several lac cash

Print Udupi : In the day light, several lakh of cash was snapped yesterday afternoon at a house on Harishchandra Road, Beedinagudde near here on Thursday, September 12.
Sunanda Manik Patil, a resident of Udupi Venkatramana temple, went to school at 12.15 pm yesterday to her children a meal at Mukunda Krupa School near the Sri Krishna Temple Complex. Udupi city police have lodged a complaint alleging that 22 lakhs of cash and half a kilogram of silver were stolen from the kitchen cabinet when they went to school for lunch.
The man who got the house had previously worked at Sangli’s Atul Bagne shop in Sunanda’s husband’s shop. He had recently been fired from his job for being suspicious of his behavior and in a complaint to the police he had committed the act.
Two months after leaving work, he came back with a friend from his hometown and was suspicious about robbing the house. It is learned that Udupi city police have moved on to the detection of the accused, who are believed to have escaped from Mumbai by train.
