Manipal : Defending champions University of Madras and runners-up Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal have once again set up a title clash in the All-India Inter-University Squash Championship for women at Marena, the indoor sports complex here on Thursday. The final is scheduled for 8 am tomorrow.

University of Madras went through to the final without much of a problem with all their players winning without dropping even a single game. Only the first player, Shivani was extended by Savitribai’sRadhika in the third game. The other two, Rathika and Krithika did not have to even produce their best against their opponents. In the quarter finals, they beat Punjab University, Chandigarh 3-1.  

MAHE on the other hand reached the final beating Mohan Lal Sukhadia University Udaipur 3-1in the quarter final and PanditRavishankar Shukla University Raipur also 3-1 in the semi-finals. MAHE dropped a match through Muskan who went down to Nidhi in four games. Ayan and Sukrita made short work of their opponents, but Shuchi was stretched in the third game after winning the first two quite comfortably. All is set for a repeat of the final clash as in Chennai last year.

MAHE Manipal beat Pt RAvishankar Shukla University Raipur 3-1.

Ayan beat Priya 11-0, 11-0, 11-1. Nidhi beat Muskan (MAHE) 11-5, 10-12, 11-7, 11-3. Sukrita beat Prerna 11-2, 11-4, 11-2. Shuchi beat Nishita 11-4, 11-1, 12-10.
