Manipal : Prisha Seva Trust  and Trivarna Arts holds a Free Art Workshop

Prisha Seva Trust in collaboration with Trivarna Arts Center Manipal has organized a Free one day Art and Painting workshop. Workshop was held on 20th October 2019 at Trivarna Arts Center.  Dr. P V Bhandary, Director of Dr. A V Baliga memorial Hospital, Udupi inaugurated the event. Dr. P V Bhandary  in his inaugural address emphasized that Art therapy helps to reduce grief and agony of mind and keeps it active and alert. Hand-Eye coordination, creative thinking and improved memory are the other benefits of Art.  He said that Art and Drawing will help improve communication and socialization. A relaxed and contented mind also keeps away the stress and related illness.
Chief Guest of the event Dr. U C Niranjan, Director of Chitra Kala Mandir Art College, Udupi said that several patients recommended by Dr. Bhandary could successfully come out of ailments during their 3 years of BFA degree course at his school and now leading a professionally happy life as Artists.

33 participants between the age group of 30 to 74 years were the beneficiaries of this program. Harish Saga, Director of Trivarna conducted the morning session. Basics of drawing with application to simple scenery and objects, and coloring  were the topics in the morning session. Afternoon session was handled by Janardhan Havanje, Director of Bhavana Foundation. Water color and coloring techniques were the topics in the afternoon session. Participants took keen interest in both the sessions. House landscape, flower pot and various colorful flowers emerged at the end of workshop from each participant.

D V Shettigar, President of Prisha Seva Trust proposed vote of thanks.  DV Shettigar presented his painting work on “Village Life” to Dr. A V Baliga Hospital.  Secretary, Nagaraj was the master of Ceremony and Treasurer, Dr. Vasudha Devi introduced the distinguished guests to the gathering. The program commenced with a prayer from Kum. Sharanya.
