KCET 2020 Exam Dates: Karnataka CET on July 30, 31 for over 73000 engineering, Ayush & Pharmacy seats
KCET 2020 would be conducted on July 30 and 31. The examinations would not conflict with the JEE Main 2020 dates which were announced earlier last week. Check complete schedule and updates.
Karnataka Common Entrance Test, KCET 2020 exam dates have been announced. In a press conference, Deputy CM and Education minister, Dr C N Aswath Narayan announced that KCET 2020 would be conducted on July 30 and July 31, 2020. KCET 2020 exam dates for April were cancelled and postponed when lockdown was imposed. All students who have applied for the examination can now prepare for the examinations. The detailed schedule would be released on the official website soon.
The candidates had registered for the exam till March 16, 2020, and the exam was to be held on April 10. The dates were later postponed to April 24 which were further postponed as the lockdown was extended till May 2020. A total of 1.92 lakh applications were received by the department, of these, 1.2 lakh students are eligible to appear for the exam. Dates for release of admit cards, however, have not been shared yet.
In a press release, the education department shared that "The KCET examinations for which the dates will be announced shortly, help students gain admission to the 62,000 odd seats in various Engineering programmes across the state along with the NEET exams for the 8,000 odd medical seats in the state."
The candidates who have passed or are appearing in 10+2 from a recognized college, board or university were free to apply to KCET 2020. The examination is to be conducted in two phases across 54 centres in Karnataka this year. In the earlier datasheet, Biology and Mathematics were the first day exams while physics and chemistry were to be conducted on the next day.
Speaking on Karnataka government’s app, website GetCETGo for students to provide free online coaching for KCET, NEET exam the minister shared that as many as 52000 tests have already been taken by students. A total of 1.68 lakh documents were accessed by the students. The interactive training modules have also garnered about 2.45 lakh views on YouTube.
KCET is a common entrance test that is conducted across the state of Karnataka for admission to professional courses like engineering, pharmacy, agricultural and veterinary courses. The courses offered are both undergraduate and postgraduate. To know more candidates can see the notification shared above or visit the official website of KCET.
