Uttarakhand cops thrust key in man’s forehead for not wearing helmet
As an argument broke out between them, one of the personnel took the man’s bike key and stabbed it into his forehead.
Three police personnel in Uttarakhand Police’s City Patrol Unit (CPU) were suspended for allegedly pushing a key into a man’s forehead for not wearing a helmet. The incident happened in Rudrapur city of Udham Singh Nagar district in Uttarakhand.
The police personnel stopped the man in the Rudrapur area for not following traffic rules on Monday evening at around 8 pm. As an argument broke out between them, one of the personnel took the man’s bike key and stabbed it into his forehead.
The man has been admitted to a local hospital. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
A video of the victim showed him standing with a key pushed into his forehead with blood oozing out. Agitated over the incident, the locals protested and pelted stones at the Rudrapur police station.
As a ruckus broke out, Rudrapur constituency MLA Rajkumar Thukral reportedly reached the spot and demanded that the CPU from his constituency be removed. Police said an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
