Karnataka lifts Sunday Lockdown, night curfew from August 1

Bengaluru : Karnataka state government lifted Sunday lockdown as well as night curfew from August 1 under Union government unlock 3.0.

As per the guidelines from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on unlock 3.0, the state Chief Secretary T. M. Bhaskar said in his order that Sunday lockdown on August 2 has been lifted along with night curfew from August 1 between 9pm to 5am.
Across the state since June 5, the state government imposed total lockdown on Sundays across the state and re-imposed a 9-day lockdown in Bengaluru urban and rural districts from June 14-22 to contain the coronavirus pandemic spread.
T. M. Bhaskar said in his order that with more relaxation of lockdown restrictions on gyms and yoga institutes’ will be allowed to reopen from August 5 across the state.
Schools and colleges, theatres, bars, entertainment parks, auditoriums, assembly halls and swimming pools will be remain closed till August 31.
Across the state, in all the containment zones in cities, towns and other places barring essential supplies and services, continue to remain closed till August 31.
Further Bhaskar said in his order that there will be no restrictions on intra-state movement of people or vehicles and permission or e-permits will not be required for shipping goods across the borders,
Independence Day will be celebrated on August 15 in the state with social distancing and in compliance with health officials protocols like wearing masks, sanitizing the people prior to the celebration etc.
