Two Day National conference concluded at UECM

Mangaluru: Day-2 The valedictory function of a two-day National Conference on “Freedom Struggle in Coastal Karnataka” was organized on Tuesday 21st June 2022 in University Evening College, Mangaluru at Ravindra Kala Bhavana.

This Day was reserved for paper presentations by the delegates and for the Panel Discussion. The conference opened with paper presentation session in which around 20 papers were presented These papers are presented by the delegates in three parallel tracks related to history of local freedom, freedom struggle through media and environmental freedom.

In a panel discussion Dr. Meenakshi Ramachandra – Retired Professor of Kannada Department, Besant Women’s College, Mangalore and Dr. Prabhath Balnadu – Lecturer of Jain P.U. College Moodbidre were the panelists for a theme on  ‘Reflections on freedom movements in Curriculum’. Mr. Sunil Kulkarni – Trustee, Bharath Foundation and Coordinator of Lit Fest Mangalore was the moderator.

In a valedictory ceremony, Chief Guest Prof. M. B. Puranik – Chairman of Sri Sharada Group of Institution revealed that one who does not know history cannot make history. Vedas, Upanishads and Puranas are our ancient history. One should be proud of our Indian traditional meaningful history and culture.

Mr. Vinay Guptha – Mangalore Zonal Deputy Manager of Bank of Baroda presided over the programme. He said it is the right time to acknowledge the efforts of freedom fighters. Mangaluru has played a great role in contributing to banking sectors and has helped in economic growth.
Dr. Subhashini Srivatsa - Principal of the College welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Pavithra and Mrs. Varsha V. introduced the guests. Venkatesh Nayak – Organising Secretary proposed Vote of thanks. Mr. Raghavendra – Conference Secretary compeered the programme. Dr. Rathi - Conference Co-ordinator, Mrs. Madhushree J. Sriyan – Co – Convener were present on stage.
