National Youth Day Celebration at University Evening College

Mangaluru: The Student Union Council of University Evening College Celebrated National Youth Day in memory of Swami Vivekananda’s 160th birthday on 12th January 2023 at the Karnataka Bank Open Air Theatre, University College, Mangaluru.

Chief guest Mr. Bellala Gopinath Rao- Civil Engineer, Retired Indian Army, inaugurated the event and spoke; students are the grand ambassadors of our country. Swami Vivekananda, the Soul of the world was a bridge between humanity and culture, depicted India to the world of its greatness. If we have dedication, sincerity, purpose and satisfaction we can conquer the infinite.

Youth speaker Mr. Vikas-Practising Chartered Accountant, Mangaluru addressed, Youth is someone who is Vibrant even on his death bed. Anyone can become a great man if one has the spirit and courage of Swami Vivekananda in him.

Grand man of 94 years Mattaru Vittala Kini gave examples of his youth where they fought to bring freedom to Goa. One should build personal and national character. We should inculcate the concept of Rashtra Devo Bhava.

Principal Dr. Subhashini Shrivatsa in her presidential address said, Man is defined by character  and our deeds must speak. Talk to yourself, Believe in yourself and be immortal within you.

Dr. Jagadish B-Assistant Director  of Student Union and Dr. Madhav M K-Student Welfare Officer addressed about the philosophy of Swami Vivekananda. The Program was composed by Mr. Venkatesh Nayak. Prayer was invoked by Ms. Yashwitha and group, Mr. Rizwan welcomed the guest and the gathering, Mrs. Madhushri J Shriyan and Mr. Rajesh introduced the guests and Mr. Sachendra proposed the vote of thanks. Teaching, non-teaching staff and students were present.
