ಮಂಗಳೂರು: ಕ್ರೀಡೆ ಎಂದರೆ ಸೋಲು, ಗೆಲುವುಗಳು ಸಹಜ. ಒಬ್ಬ ಗೆಲ್ಲಲು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ಸೋಲಲೇಬೇಕು. ಈ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ಜೀವನಾನುಭವವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ, ಎಂದು ಅಂತಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಅಥ್ಲೀಟ್‌, ಕಾರ್ಪೊರೇಷನ್‌ ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‌ನ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಸಹಾಯಕ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಾಪಕ ಎ. ತಾರಾನಾಥ್‌ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಪಟ್ಟರು.
ನಗರದ ವಿಶ್ವವಿದ್ಯಾನಿಲಯ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗುರುವಾರ ನಡೆದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟದ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಯಾಗಿ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಧ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದ ಅವರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಂದ ಧ್ವಜವಂದನೆ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲೆ ಡಾ. ಅನಸೂಯ ರೈ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಕ್ರೀಡೆ ಕಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಪೂರಕ. ಸಿಗುವ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು, ಎಂದರು.
ಉದ್ಘಾಟನಾ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಭಾಗವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪಥಸಂಚಲನ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯಿತು. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಹನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಡಾ. ಕೇಶವಮೂರ್ತಿ ಟಿ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸಿದರು. ಸ್ನಾತಕೋತ್ತರ ಅರ್ಥಶಾಸ್ತ್ರ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕಿ ಶಮಾ ಐಎನ್‌ಎಂ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರೂಪಿಸಿದರು. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಪೋಷಕರು, ದೈಹಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಹಾಯಕ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಅಲ್ತಾಫ್‌ ಸಾಬ್‌, ರಸೂಲ್‌ ಸಾಬ್‌, ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳಾದ ಮನೋಜ್‌ ಎಸ್‌. ಎಂ, ಕೀರ್ತನಾ ಮೊದಲಾದವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯ
ಕ್ರೀಡಾಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಬೆಳಗುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾದ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಕೂಟದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರಿಗೆ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ನೂರು ಮೀಟರ್‌ ಓಟ, 75 ಮೀಟರ್‌ ನಡಿಗೆ (45 ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸು ಮೀರಿದವರಿಗೆ), ಹಗ್ಗ ಜಗ್ಗಾಟ, ಗುರಿ ಎಸೆತ, ಥ್ರೋಬಾಲ್‌, ಶಾಟ್‌ ಪುಟ್‌, ಎತ್ತರ ಜಿಗಿತ, ರಿಲೇ ಓಟ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಸ್ಪರ್ಧೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಲ್ಲದೆ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರೂ ಉತ್ಸಾಹದಿಂದ ಪಾಲ್ಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯಿತು. ಇದೇ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಾಧನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಕ್ರೀಡಾಪಟುಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಹುಮಾನ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
