Rangratri Dandiya & Garba Night: An annual Care to Share SSR initiative of Bunts Sangha’s S M Shetty High School and Junior College

On 2nd November the by-lanes of Hiranandani Powai were alive with a vibrant display of colours,  sounds of foot-tapping music and rhythmic beats of the dandiya sticks as all were headed towards a singular destination - the Rangrati Dandiya and Garba night mega dance event. This was the annual cultural event organized by Bunts Sangha’s S M Shetty High School and Junior College, a Care to Share initiative under the purview of their School Social Responsibility.

This spectacular event owes its origins to the simple need of reaching out to the community and helping out those who need it. At its core are the students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff and management who have been doing their utmost to ensure the success of this event so that more may be benefited through this venture.

The Shashi Manmohan Open Air Auditorium was teeming with visitors and captivating stalls ranging from exquisite Indian cuisine, refreshments, games suitable for both kids and adults alike and a variety of apparels and accessories. The festivities commenced with an aarti dedicated to Durga Maa. The much awaited traditional Garba and Dandiya Raas Dance was beautifully orchestrated by the Live Band from Setu Events who had the crowd on their feet.

The event was graced by Chairman of PEC, Shri B R Shetty; Vice Chairman of PEC Shri Vasant N Shetty Palimar & Shri Ultur Mohandas Shetty; Secretary of PEC ,CS Uttam Shetty and Treasurer of PEC C A Jagdish Shetty, Treasurer of Bunts Sangha Mumbai CA Harish Shetty, Shri Nishit Shetty, Member of PEC. Chairman of PEC, Shri B R Shetty joyfully welcomed the partakers in the event who have selflessly contributed to this generous initiative and helped realize a cause greater than themselves.

As a tribute to the entrants, an array of prizes were given away in each category of children up to Std I, Students from Std II to Std X and adults from Std XI and upwards with separate categories for male and female. Prizes were given for Best Attire, Best Dancers, Best Dance Group and Lucky Pass.

The institution expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all the supporters and well wishers who had embarked on this remarkable journey to make this a triumphant venture. In honour of the happy and contented faces all around and the spirited dancers, both young and old who gave their all on the dance floor, the grand celebration came to an end with yet another promising event in the forthcoming year.
