Kemmannu Parish feast: traditionally a joyful and colorful celebration to commemorate the glory of the patron St Theresa also called as "Tera Parba" by our Hindu brothers  was held on the 9th &10th of  January 07.The Besp or the eve of the feast evening had colorful fire display. CYM youngsters are seen here in the stalls for housie, Rooster, sheep & Coke lucky draw & many other games. shhhhh no beer draw since the beer is banned in the church compound few years back .

The Kemmannu St Theresa’s parish feast which traditionally meant a lot for all the parish community has set off with Vespers (canonical hours of the divine A late evening worship service) on the 9^th Jan Tuesday.

The celebrations were vibrant with people in a festive mood.

The orchestral multi band coir with the local folks contributed the rhythmic strong and resonating hymns all along the service.

Dozens of stalls with variety items such as toys, sweets, games attributed the night spirit.

This winter season, witnessed hundreds of our parish folk’s dear children descended from various parts of the world as most of them loved to be with their parents at the Christmas season.

This year’s star attraction was the giant wheel! Kids were shy to go near but adults made it easy to enjoy revolving and remembering those old fest days! Sitting and bouncing the water balls from the cradle like bucket seat on wheel.

The fest evening again will be filled with excitement as the play written by Reginold Furtado will be staged at church grounds by our Kemmannu convent old students.

St .Philomena Higher Primary school old students were witnessed by many.
Some of our artists, Reginold furtado and Peter D Souza with his wife Mareena, Thomas, Simon, Naveen, Jeevan & Jyothi have acted. Mr. Stanly Lewis after many years of stage absence in Kemman have taken part.
According to Mr. Stanly he happens to have acted about 30 years back on this stage he recalled.
The play reflected the story of a poor girl (Winnie) who had difficulty in getting married due to poverty and the opposition of her fiancés father. She had to bear the pain of two members of her family murdered and thrown in the Kemmannu River by Ronnie (Jeevan). Tragedy struck in the end again as her future father in law shot her fiancé (Willy).
The emotional stage play made some people bring tears run down their cheeks.
Thanks Kemmannu old students for your efforts! let the stage show once again come back to life after a long lull of 20 years as the silver screen and TV video stole the charm of those plays!
