Kallianpur : To mark the International Women’s Day and to highlight and value the place of woman and girl child in society, the PTA Executive Committee Members of 2019-20 of Milagres English medium School organised an all women celebration on March 9 @ 2.30 pm in the Primary School Hall.

The Internationally chosen theme for this year’s Women’s Day celebration “An equal world is an enabled world” made a mark in the minds and hearts of all parents, female students and staff who participated in the programme.

Dr ShashikalaBhat, a well-known Obstetrtician and Gynaecologistof Dr T M APai Hospital Udupi was the chief guest. She spoke to the gathering on ‘General Health Care and the Role of Self-Confidence in the Lives of Women.’ She invited the participants to add life into their years of living than bothering about adding years into their life. Further she said that women need to keep themselves active with good food, good sleep, good exercise and fruitful relationshipsin order to enjoy long life.

The dais looked striking with all women dignitaries. Women representing different walks of life were present. Mrs Hilda Castelino, Advocate, Sr Diana, a religious nun, Mrs Marita Lewis, a politician, Mrs Marina Lewis of Women’s cell Kallianpur, MrspoornimaBhat, a banker, MrsRekhaShetty& Mrs Swati Nayak, Vice Presidents of PTA, Ms Janice and Ms Raksha, student girl representatives were present. Mrs VeeraD’Silva, Headmistress of Primary School presided over the programme.

The programme was completely organised by PTA. MrsMamataShetty compered the programme. Mrs Namratha welcomed the gathering. Mrs Shahikala spoke on the importamce of Women’s day. Mrs Netravati sang the prayer song. Mrs Shakuntala introduced the speaker and chief guest. Mrs Sarita proposed the vote of thanks.
