Addressing with media persons at Milagres College, Dr. Gerald Pinto Principal said that the college started with the Junior College education in Arts and Commerce and in Degree with Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) classes. In the year 1981 PUSc., and later B.Sc., degree courses started and later BBM BCA, MSW and MCom classes were started.

The classes were held in Milagres High School at that time and later two floors building was established. Under the University Grant Commission (UGC) and public separate Science Block, Laboratory, well established Library, sports ground, Hostel for Ladies, Canteen and other established. On the occasion of Silver

Jubilee celebrations, vast Silver Jubilee Hall and later Audio Visual Hall were established. To demand for the more classes, well established three floor new building was built in the year 2011.

The College began with 231 students and now around 1800 students, 95 faculty and 30 administrative staff providing services with national level and international level achievements in various fields and Milagres College developed with one of the best Educational Institution in all round achievements in Sports, Education and other curricular activities.

The Golden Jubilee celebrations started with offering thanksgiving Eucharistic mass led by Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi Diocese at 9.30 am on Friday, 13^th January, 2017. The celebrations will be presiding over by Bishop. Pramod Madhwaraj District Minister in Charge, Minister of Fisheries, Sports and Youth empowerment  and Ivan D’Souza Chief Whip of Karnataka Legislative Council, Karnataka State will be chief guest. Oscar Fernandes will release the souvenir during the occasion. Janardhan Thonse ZP member, Taluk Panchayat member Dhananjay Kunder, Kallianpur Grama Panchayat President Pushpa Kotian, Alumni Alfred Crasto, Udupi Catholic Education Society Secretary Rev Fr. Lawrence D’Souza will present as guest of honor.During the celebrations, Rev Fr. William Gonsalves former Correspondent of the College, Shirthady William Pinto founder lecturer, former Correspondents, former Principals, Lecturers and staff will be felicitated. Moreover, students and professors for their achievements also will be felicitated.

Peter A Lewis in Art, M. Janaki in Sahitya and Janapada, Daniel Montiero in World record holder in collection of postal stamps will be honoured.Cultural programmes will be held after 1.30 am by the students.
