Udupi : St. Sebastian Ward, Thonse of Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur near here celebrated ward annual feast on Sunday, 26^th February, 2017 .

The ward feast celebrated with thanksgiving mass for patron of the ward, St. Sebastian during 8 am mass on Sunday. The liturgy of the feast mass was held by the Thonse ward people with devotees. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo was the celebrant of the mass. Large number of ward people joined to offerings during the mass as well as after the mass took brief procession of relic on the occasion of celebration.

There was get together of ward people held at Rocky D’Souza’s residence at Honnappakudru, Thonse. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of Milagres Cathedral, Rev Fr. Rolwin Aranha, Asst. Parish priest, Rev Fr. Herold Mathias Director of Pilar Fathers, Kallianpur, Nuns of Rose Convent and Maria Kripa Convent, Ozanam Old age House, Xavier Fernandes, Coordinator of 18 Commissions of Cathedral, Jyothi Lewis Gurkarn of Ward and guest gurkars of other wards were present on the dais.

After the invocation prayer led by Jyothi Lewis, Judy D’Souza ward representative was welcomed the gatherings. Ancilla Lewis secretary placed the report of the ward activities.

The meaningful skit by ward persons played on the occasion. Honor prizes were distributed to the distinguished students of the ward.

Various games were conducted by Anil Mendonca and prizes distributed to winners of various games conducted. In his address and message Fr. Stany B. Lobo appreciated the ward people of their unity in various activities of the ward as well as for the church. He also appreciated ward people for the participation during the annual ward feast and called to attend during monthly ward small community meetings.

Rev Fr. Rowin Aranha graced the prayers on the dinner which prepared by the ward women under the leadership of Gurkarn Jyothi Lewis.

Sunila Lewis proposed vote of thanks and Anil Mendonca compered the get together programme. Large number of ward people participated on Ward Fest.

The Thonse ward fest usually held every year on Sunday before Ash Wednesday since several years which the tradition still be celebrated with unity and tradition. Formerly this ward of Thonse also called London Ward earlier years. One of the prime wards of Milagres Church now years ago become shorter due to some of the families migrated to city limits like Santhekatte, Manipal, Udupi and so on. Not only Thonse ward, some of the wards in remote villages areas now a days the families decreased in number neither one or two persons in the house. In fact, the number of devotees participating various feast of the church never decreased that large number of former parishioners do participate with faith and devotion to Our Lady of Miracles.
