Udupi : “Joseph Shala Habba” celebrated at St. Joseph’s Higher Primary School, Kallianpur near here on Saturday, 18^th March, 2017.

During the celebrations at the school hall, Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo said that God chose Joseph to be the earthly father of Jesus, the man entrusted to raise the Son of God, who a carpenter or skilled craftsman. He obeyed God in the face of severe humiliation. He did the right thing before God, in the right manner. St Joseph was a man strong conviction who lived out his beliefs in his actions. He was described in the Bible as a righteous man. Even when personally wronged, he had the quality of being sensitive to someone else’s shame. He responded to God in obedience and he practiced self control. St Joseph is a wonderful biblical example of integrity and godly character.

Under the leadership of Sr. Susheela Monteiro, School Headmistress, students under the support of Herald D’Silva school master conducted prayer service with devotion and gaiety. The statue of St. Joseph decorated with beautiful flowers and lighting.

The members of school management, old students, PTA members, members of old students, donors, Milagres Cathedral parish pastoral council members and others were present. The Joseph Habba concluded with fellowship lunch. The programme was compered by Herald D’Silva.

St Joseph’s Higher Primary School of Kallianpur earlier known as ‘Bolkanv Iskol’ as it was started on the corridors of the church which existed since 125 years and the school has been the alma mater of thousands of students in view of a great future for the local students in particular as well as neighbourhood. . The school was established in 1892. St. Joseph’s Higher Primary School one of the oldest and very popular school in Brahmavar Educational Block which giving education to more than 340 students in present academic year. The strength of the school increases even though there has been shortfall of students in Kannanda medium schools due to school continues to impart quality education.

The school most popular in the district which provides free uniforms, school books, umbrellas, stationery and other aid for deserved students. The school one of the popular and highest students due to better surroundings, smart classes, coaching in sports and other activities, computer education and provides other curricular activities for the betterment of the students.

Due to one of the oldest structure of the school, the management planning to construct new building with the intention of providing more facilities and infrastructures’ for the students on the occasion of post centenary celebrations in 2017. The school management herewith appeal to the old students and well wishers and others to give cooperation and financial help to complete dreams of the project.
