Udupi : Dr. B. R. Ambedkar worked for the all sections of the society for their empowerment, said Pramod Madhawaraj, District minister in-charge, Minister for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment.

He was speaking on celebration of the 126^th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar at Dr. Ambedkar Bhavan, Adi Udupi near here on Friday, 14^th April, 2017which organized by District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Social development department and Dalit Associations.

He said there would be pointed that Dr. Ambedkar only worked for the empowerment of Dalit community. But he including Dalit, for workers, women, backward communities, deprived and other communities also. He gave reservation to those who are poor and backward communities in the society in the constitution. He drafted the constitution for the welfare of downtrodden and other weaker section people in order to their empowerment of the deprived section of the society. But it would be reached very few section of the society. The government and the people should try for the development of the weaker section of the society.

The state government kept aside Rs 27000 crore for the development of SC and ST communities’ empowerment. The state government organized several programmes for their empowerment.

Dinakar Babu President of Zilla Panchayat inaugurated the programme. He said Dr. B. R. Ambedkar not only responsible to the empowerment of poor and backward sections, but also he was educated and tried to change the life of the people.

Dr. Vasudev also spoke in regard to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. Various achievers were felicitated during the occasion and distributed laptop and other facilities to the achievers.
