Udupi : Reply to certain questions by media persons to Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Karnataka said regarding the pre-poll alliance with JD(S) that as of now there is no such planning on pre-poll alliance with JD(S) and we do not plan about that question.

He spoke to media persons during his arrival at the specially prepared helipad ground near Smt Rukmini Shedti Memorial National Government First Grade College, Barkur in Udupi district when he is scheduled to participate in a programme of the aegis of Barkur Maha Samshthanam.

On his arrival Pramod Madhwaraj District in-charge Minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake Kaup, M. A. Gafoor of Minority commission, Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner, Shilpa Nag Assistant Commissioner, Kundapur, K T Balakrishna District Superintendent of Police and others received the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on the ground. The CM was inspected the guard of honour ar the helipad from district police.

Regarding the by-polls at Najandgud and Gundlupet legislative constituencies, Siddaramaih said that in fact his party had benefitted due to JD(S) did not field its candidates. He said that only due to not fielding candidate from JD(S) party in the election his party benefited but also all classes of people had voted in favour of Congress even predominantly Veerashaiva voters.

On the issue of the attack on Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner during the raid on illegal sand mafia, he said that the guilty will be dealt with sternly action even though they are strong or have political clout. The proposal about the framing uniform sand policy for coastal districts is under consideration.

In regard to appointing a new President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee in place of present President G. Parameshwar, he said that there are several names in circulation, but it is up to the Congress High Command to take such a decision.

He said that a decision will be taken soon on the filling up of two vacant positions in the ministry and nominating three MLCs.

Asking with the question in regard to Varahi Project and revival of Brahmavar Sugar Factory, Siddaramaiha said that whichever factory, if there is no raw material, not easy to run the factory. Similarly there would be sufficient cane not available to run a sugar factory in Brahmavar, it would not possible to run the Brahmavar Sugar Factory. Only five percent crop of sugarcane grown in near the Brahmavar which will not be sufficient to run the factory. He noted that about seven percent sugarcane crop grown in Pandavapaura and ten percent sugarcane crop grown in Mysore.

About the reported unhappiness of Pejavar Swamiji Sri Vishweshateertha that he had not visited Sri Krishna Math during his previous visits, Siddaramaiah said that he did not get opportunity to meet Swamiji and in future if he gets opportunity to visit Sri Krishna Math, he will visit Math and meet Swamiji.

Regarding BJP’s target to get 150 seats in forthcoming elections, he said he wanted to know that who gave this target figures to BJP which people had not given it. He said that Yeddyurappa cannot take voters for granted and that the voters cannot be compelled to vote for a particular party.

Regarding former Prime Minister Deve Gowda’s relation with him, he neglected to the comment.
