Udupi : Chief Minister of Karnataka State, Siddaramaiah launched the Sri Barkur Mahasamsthanam by lighting the lamp at Rajya Bhuthala Pandya Vedike, Barkur near here on Friday, 21^st April, 2017.

Addressing the gathering Chief Minister Siddaramaih said that since three years the work started in one stage in Sri Barkur Mahasamstanam led by Sri Dr. Santhosh Swamiji. This is very popular because of support from the public and their support needed for the development. Let Swamiji get support from the public at large. 76 Bhoothala Pandya established the Mahasamstanam and 365 temples also established in Sri Barkur. We should study the history of Mahasamstanm. Those who know the history, it is possible the development. Without the adequate knowledge of history, no one can build the future of development.

CM Siddaramaiha said that people only have created the caste system for their own selfishness. There is no caste system in the eyes of God. Rather people should have human values to keep away from inhuman culture and behavior. The caste based discrimination while entering the temple and religious places created by the people for their selfishness only.

He said that “I never was an atheist. Some people may say that I am atheist. So, it doesn’t mean that I visit temples rather rarely. Some people say that I was against the religion and beliefs. I believe in one God which is everywhere. I don’t believe that when a problem comes should go to Kashmir to find God for the solution. One cannot find God in his life when his heart is not clean. If there is no clean heart, he never sees the solution in life, I believe in Humanity and not religious activities”, he said.

He believes the teachings of Basavanna that Iva yarava iva nammava, iva nammava. Basavanna’s Anubhava Matapa is a basic model for all political system like Rajya Sabha, Vidhana Sabha, Cabinet and so on. We surely need horizontal social system rather vertical social system. There should be need to promotion of society in equality without any caste system which gender discrimination are practiced in society. There will be harassment and violation in the society when caste system prevails in the society. Caste system is the opposite of development. The caste system has made by us. When there is no stop of caste system, there never discrimination on caste system stops. God has never discriminated anyone. Hence it was wrong for people to do so against their fellow beings, he said.

He said that Looking good for others is religion or Dharma. I am not opposite to others.  We never bad to others which is Adharma. The Bunt community was progressive as it followed the matrilineal system and so Bund communities were adventurous. Once they lost land during the land reforms, they went to Mumbai, Bangaluru, middile east and the gulf and they also made their name themselves in different businesses. The Bunts community preferred to create jobs rather search for jobs. They created jobs for others.

He said the social reformer Basaveshwara, the saints had explained religion with simple language which people can understand better. No saints told to discriminate other religions. They told us to give respect to other religion and honor for them. Our heart should be clean, he said.

Prior to arrival on the stage, Siddaramaiha visted the temple and Sri Dr. Santhosh Swamiji honoured the Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiha.

On the occasion four personalities were felicitated and awarded in the name of Raja Bhutala Pandya awards. They were former Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde, CMD All Cargo Logistics Mumbai Shashi Kiran Shetty, President of Billava Mahamandala Mumbai Jaya C Suvarna and Professor of Kannada Department of Mangaluru University Dr. K Chinnappa Gowda.

Sri Gurusiddaraja Yogindra Mahaswami of Moorusavira Math, Hubli, Vidyachaspathi Sri Dr. Vishwasanthosha Bharathi Swamiji of Barkur graced the occasion. Raja Kerala Varma Empire family of Pandala Shabharimala, Pramod Madhwaraj District in charge minster, Rudrappa Manappa Lamani Minister for Muzarai, Vinay Kumar Sorake MLA and former district in charge minister, Shakunthala Shetty MLA and parliamentary Secretary for Chief Minister, Sadananda Shetty, Barkur Sudhakar Shetty, Appanna Hegde former MLA, Shashikiran Shetty, Varadaraja Shetty, Maladi Ajith Kumar Rai, Mangaluru and other among were present.

Manohar Prasad Chief of Udyavani at Mangaluru compered the programme. He explained the history of both coastal districts prior to the programme.
