Print Fishing for Fun at Perla Pond, Kemmannu.
Kemmannu, April 26, 2017: It’s a ritual, every year local youth join together and go fishing at a pond near Kambla Thotta, Kemmannu. As the water level is low in summer, generally fishing date is fixed for April or May of every year.
This year 5 set of youth with fishing net began fishing early in the morning on Wednesday. Even though the crop is less this year, managed to net about 50 kgs of assorted fish. Children and women also joined their family members in this adventurous sport.
The group was treated with puffs and toddy at the break.

| We should let the fish live if the fishing is for fun. This looks like fish is in the dinner plate (vatly or boshi) and rice in the saucer (gulmbi or peerie). Nostalgic though. Agree[2]
