Udupi : Karnataka Dalitha Sangharsha Samithi Moha Okoota and Various Dalit Associations of Udupi district demanding the arrest of persons who done moral policing against Koraga Community at Hosadu near Kundapur on 25^th April, 2017.  

Speaking at a protest in front of the Superintendent of Police Office, Udaya Kumar Tallur, State Convener KSDSO said that the accused in moral policing and assaulting on Koraga community should be arrested immediately. The police have failed to arrest the attackers on Koraga Community during engagement meal at night Bhajaranga Dal workers like Sunil Poojary, Chandrakanth Poojary, Gururaj Acharya and around ten people entered the house forcefully and assaulted the guests as well as ladies and thrown out the food.

Some accused members threatened Hosadu panchayat member and used worst language and told to rape her. Meanwhile they threatened to burn their house also. The attackers also said that they will burn their eight families’ houses if they give complaint to the police.

Udaykumar Tallur said that where is democracy in India?. The moral policing people disrupt the peace in the community and disrupt the system of democracy. Those who make atrocities on backward people, don’t know their religion.

Sundar Master said that those who make moral policing should be arrested. The case on atrocities on Koraga community registered in Gangully Police Station. Instead police should give protection to backward community, police supporting the accused persons in the station. Our eating habits is our right to eat. These people should oppose alcohol users but not to food eating people. This protest is token one. If the police not arrest these accused, severe protest will be organized.

Shakuntala Gram Panchayat member also spoke during the protest and told about the atrocities on them by Bhajaranga Dal workers. Politicians nor the police have interested to hear their grievances in regard to atrocities on Koraga community on that day on 25^th April at Hosadu Grama.

Dr. G. Rajashekar  and other leaders also spoke during the protest. Shyam Raj Birthi, M. K. Prasad, Vishwanath Pethri, Narayana Manur, Fr. William Martis, Prof Paniraj and other among were present during the protest in front of SP office.
