Kallianpur/Santhekatte: Another accident within a week, damages without injuries.

Kallianpur/Santhekatte: In yet another accident which happened this evening at Santhekatte Junction, the Amba Bus which takes U turn at this Santhekatte daily took a abrupt turn in front of Navami Bakery. As the driver has taken a wider turn a truck rammed exactly on the middle section of the bus and few passengers who were in the bus escaped the injury.

The eye witness blamed the bus driver who dares similar risks every day. It took almost 45 mnts for the police to arrive on the accident spot and to ask the truck driver to move the truck and to clear the highway.

But something went wrong as soon as the truck driver started to reverse the truck. Instead of moving backwards the truck started moving ahead and pushed the bus with loud scratching sound tore the bus side tin, knocked down few motor bikes, lost its course and went straight towards opposite direction on NH 66 got the bike jammed into the tyres in turn acted as a brake cane to stand still in front of Vinod Travel Agency besides the highway. All this was from the 2nd event after the first event where the truck hit the bus.

Santhekatte is known for traffic snarls and increasing traffic and congestion is posing threat of the area turning into accident prone zone. It may be recalled that the swift which hit the Amber traffic light 4 days back coming from Bangalore and the injured both the occupants.

The highway authorities too have exhibited their recklessness by not constructing a proper bus stand, proper crossings and signals here. Pedestrians and people crossing the road face grave danger on account of increased speed of buses, trucks, and other vehicles.

People expect the highway authohorities, local administration, MLA, MP and other concerned to sink their differences for the general good of the people and take steps in the larger interests of the people like by construction of under pass and over bridge and a  proper bus stand.
