Bradly Ivan D’Souza has turned obstacles into opportunities. Age is just a number. Bradly believes, fix the problem not the blame.

On July 1st at 11:30 pm Pacific Time, two friends, Bradly D’Souza and Jordan Hart, left Redondo Beach, California, in a 2015 midnight silver Tesla Model S, and proceeded east. Fifty-one hours and 47 minutes later, they arrived at a garage on E. 31st Street in New York City, claiming to set a new record for the fastest transcontinental drive in an electric vehicle. They bested the previous record holder by a little more than three hours.

Bradly and Jordan did it to raise awareness about the issue of human trafficking and also to raise support for the victims of this dark trade. On America’s Independence Day, July 4th, Bradly and Jordan reached  New York, their destination at 6:17 am with a mission to have freedom for all humans.

“For me, I never thought of the human trafficking as being local, as wide spread as it is,” Jordan said. “I saw the movie “Taken,” and thought that’s something that happens in rare instances. That’s where I got the idea that people aren’t aware of this thing.”

This is also the first time an electric car has surpassed the famous 1933 “Cannonball” transcontinental record set by Erwin G. Baker in a Graham-Paige model 57 Blue Streak 8, setting a 53.5 hour record that stood for nearly 40 years. This drive inspired the later Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, better known as the “Cannonball Run”.

Bradly said, “I believe that our knowledge of the limitations and willingness to push the boundaries whenever possible is what made the largest difference".

Elon Musk twitted : "You can now drive anywhere in the US (except N Alaska), most of Europe, China & Japan using the Tesla Supercharger network!  Elon Musk is the co-founder, CEO and Product Architect at Tesla, overseeing all product development, engineering, and design of the company’s electric vehicles, battery products, and solar roofs.

In 2003 Bradly’s parents Harold and Dancy D’Souza became victims of labor trafficking and debt bondage, in the United States of America. Today its a different story. The D’Souza family changed their lives from stigma to success,  Bradly was nominated as a National and Global Scholar in America. He has been recognized, rewarded and respected in the community on his numerous achievement in the field of volunteering, academics, extra curricular activities and contributions to non-profit organizations. He graduated six months early from University of Cincinnati in December, 2016.

At age 19 Bradly was appointed as the youngest Board of Director for Prevent Blindness. Founded in 1908, Prevent Blindness is the nation’s leading volunteer eye health and safety organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight. The Ohio Affiliate of Prevent Blindness is Ohio’s leading volunteer nonprofit public health organization dedicated to prevent blindness and preserve sight.

Bradly said, " The entire purpose of his trip was to raise awareness and bring to light what a pain Human Trafficking is to the world. Please visit http://freedom5000.org to support the real reason we did something like this. All proceeds go to organizations dedicated to raising awareness, helping survivors and preventing this from happening to more people in the world".

Traveling to America, precaution is better then cure. The National Human Trafficking Resource Center : 1(888) 373-7888. SMS: 233733 (Text "HELP" or "INFO"). Hours: 24 hours, 7 days a week.  Languages: English, Hindi, Spanish, and 200 more languages. Website: traffickingresourcecenter.org

Your attitude determines your altitude. This extra ordinary Bradly has driven over two hundred thousand miles in America. At a young age, Bradly’s passion for Tesla resulted in owning and working for Tesla Inc. since April 2014. .

This dedicated, devoted and determined Bradly and his brother Rohan are the  sons of resilient Harold and Dancy D’Souza native of Bajpe, Mangalore.

Bradly Ivan D’Souza has definitely exemplified the epitome of humanity. No matter how much the world tries to hold you back, always continue with the belief that what you want to achieve is possible. Believing you can become successful is the most important step in actually achieving it.
