Print Kemmannite Br. Romel Saldanha ordained at Jaipur Diocese.
Jaipur, July 23, 2017: Br. Romel Saldanha, Son of Mr. Merwin and Ruby Saldanha and Grandson of Mr. Augustine and Lenny Saldanha of Kamblathotta, Kemmannu was ordained as Catholic Priest in Jaipur Diocese on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at a ceremony held at Jaipur Cathedral.
Bishop of Jaipur Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Oswald Lewis bestowed priesthood on Br. Romel in a high mass and ceremony held at the Jaipur Cathedral. Vicar General of Jaipur Diocese Rev. Fr. Edward Oliveira, Kemmannu Parish Priest Fr. Victor D Souza and several other priests and faithful attended the mass and ceremony. Incidentally both Bishop Oswald Lewis and Fr. Edwards are from Kemmannu Parish.
Fr. Romel did his early education at Kallianpur and responded to the call of God by joining the Jaipur Diocese and successfully completed his training to become a priest with devotion, dedication and hard work. It is a long time since anyone from Kemmannu Parish has become a priest.
On the same occasion Rome’s younger brother John Saldanha received First holy communion from the hands of brother Fr. Romel.
We Parishioners of Kemmannu and Mount Rosary church congratulate Fr. Romel and pray to god to help him serve in his garden for a long time to come and may he achieve greater heights in his profession.
