Print Sauharda Samiti Kemmannu organizes “Sauharda Sahamilana”
Kemmannu, 10 September 2017: Sauharda Samiti Kemmannu, an association formed to create inter-religious harmony, understanding and co-operation organized ‘Sauharda Sahamilana’ in the backdrop of celebration of recent festivals i.e., Ganesh Chaturti, Eid ul Adha (Bakrid) and Monti Feast. The programme was held at the Little Flower Church Hall Kemmannu.
Convener of the Samiti Mr. Satish Shetty welcomed the guest and briefed about the Samiti and its formation a few years ago under the honorary President ship of Shri. Nempu Sridhar Bhat and its progress in the last couple of years.
Kemmannu Parish Priest Fr. Victor D Souza spoke about the significance of Christian festival Nativity of blessed Mother Mary (Monti Feast), which is also celebrated by Christians as the feast of New Crop and its significance of family bonding and thanks giving to God.
Dr. Mohammed Rafiq, noted Doctor and Inspection Faculty Member of Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India spoke about the Muslim feast Eid ul Adha (Bakrid) and the message of sacrifice, sharing and surrender to God associated with the feast.
Mr. K L Kudanthaya, Janapadha Researcher spoke about the Hindu feast Geneshotsava and it co-relation with Mother Earth and festivals of other religions.
Hampankatte Friends, a Social minded organization of the area, which is actively helping the poor in building houses and many other social activities was honored on the occasion. Mr. Yogish Acharya accepted the felicitation on behalf of the Association.
Miss Jovita Andrade of Kemmannu, an outstanding NCC cadet who had taken part in last year’s Republic Day Parade and received medal from Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi was also felicitated on the occasion.
Mr. Veronica Cornelio and Mr. Idrees Hoode compeered the programme. Mrs. Jyothi Lewis proposed the vote of thanks.
