Udupi : Salvadore Norohna former Principal of SMS PU College Brahmavar unanimously elected as President of Milagres College Alumni Association, Kallianpur for the year 2017/18 during general body meeting held at College Audio Visual Hall on Saturday, 4^th November, 2017.

Earlier he was served as Vice President of prestigious Milagres College Alumni Association. Prof. Sophiya Dais elected as General Secretary, Shekar Gujjarbettu and Laveena as Vice Presidents, Joachim D’Souza as Treasurer, Rekha and Jyoce as Joint Secretaries, Jovita and Naveen as Cultural Secretaries and Allen Lewis as Public Relation Officer and appointed several executive members of the association. Dr. Jayaram Shettigar was the election officer and he conducted the election very smoothly.

Earlier Allen Lewis President welcomed the gatherings and delivered keynote address. Prof. Sophiya placed the previous meeting report as well as previous general body meeting. Augustin Dias placed the statement of accounts.

Felicitation programme also held during the occasion. The rank holders, retired faculty of the college and old student’s achievers were honoured. The rank holder Sheril Vegilia 7^th Rank holder in MSW was honoured which introduced by Amrutha D’Souza, The old student achiever Collin D’Souza was introduced by Shekar Gujjarbettu, Sr. Gerald Pinto and Joachim D’Souza retired faculty of the college was introduced by Lolita D’Souza.

On behalf of felicitators, Dr. Gerald Pinto and Collin D’Souza placed their views on their achievements and they gave gratitude to the Alumni association members for the honour.

Dr. Vincent Alva Hon’ble President of Association and Principal of Milagres College presided over the programme and gave his message. He pressurized the old students to make their association strong and active. He thankful for the association in providing various ways support for the college. He also called various batch mates who working in various cities especially in Bangaluru and abroad to start Milagres College Alumni associations respective places. Whichever educational institutions, their old students are backbone of their respective institutions which badly needed to overall development of the institutions.

Salvadore Noronha incoming President gave hopeful speech after takes over President of the association and delivered the vote of thanks. Sandeep Shetty, Department of English compered the programme.
