Udupi : Pre-University Education Department, Bengaluru, PU Education Department, Udupi District and S.M.S. PU College jointly to organize State level PU Students Sports Tournament at S.M.S. Ground, Brahmavar from 11^th to 13^th November, 2017.

Speaking to media persons at Udupi Press Club, Smt. Vijayalakshmi B. Nayak Joint Director of PU Education Department Udupi district said that the tournament will held three days, starting from 11^th to 13^th November which around 2,500 sports students will be participate from 32 districts of the state.

In relation to state level sports meet, various committees had been formed and they will take their respective responsibilities. For the success of the tournament around 200 technical officers, 200 self volunteers and others will take their responsibilities, she said.

The state level tournament will be inaugurated by Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister for the state of Sports, Fisheries and Youth Empowerment at 4 pm on 11^th November at SMS Sports ground, Brahmavar. This sports meet will be under supervision of district commissioner, Priyanka Mary Francis will he held and already all respective work started to conduct smooth sports tournament at the state level, she said.

She said the accommodation for the sports person will be organized at SMS PU College, SMS College, Government PU College, Brahmavar, Nirmala PU College, SMS CBSE Brahmavar and SMS English Medium School, Brahmavar.

For the transport for sports students will be arranged from Barkur Railway Station to the SMS PU College by bus and District Health officials will take responsibility of health facilities to the sports students.

All the district elected representatives will be invited as guests of the occasion. Rev Fr. C A Isaac Correspondent of SMS Educational Institutions will bless the grand event.

The valedictory function and prize distribution ceremony will be held on 13^th November. Pramod Madhwaraj Minister for Sports will preside and to distribute the prizes. The championship prizes will be distributed by Jayaprakash Hegde former MP .
