Udupi : During the rule of Narendra Modi, the meat export from India doubled. On this case even though Supreme Court directed the government, Modi not interested to bring the anti meat export law, said Dayananda Swamiji, President of World Animal Welfare Board and National Convener of Lingayath Dharma Mahasabha.

Addressing to media persons at Udupi Press Club on Tuesday, 28^th November, 2017, Dayananda Swamiji said that Narendra Modi came to power with the protection of our culture and tradition and he would ban the meat export. He has failed to fulfill his pre-poll assurances. The government should bring a legislation to ban the meat export completely.

He said that even Muslims and other communities also support to ban the meat export. Modi government has silent on the meat export. The meat export not only beef, but also other animals’ meats export also should be banned. What is the difficulty to ban the meat export for the government, he asks. Why Modi on this issue Man ki baath inform to the people of India, he asks.

Only Muslims are not slaughter cows, but Hindus also responsible. Hindus who are transport cows to slaughter houses. Lakhs of animals are sacrificing in temples in the name of God. We need to fight against the animal sacrifice in the temples.

Supreme Court on 29^th March, 2016 had ordered the central government to ban meat export. When BJP came to power we hoped that it would enforce the ban. Nothing will happen, he said.

We always fight against the exporting any kind of meat. Our fight will be that the country is free of sacrifice, said Dayananda Swamiji.

Siddaramiaha took oath as chief minister on the day of Basava Jayanti. But he did not follw Basavanna that Basavanna was against cow slaughter. Siddaramaiha was withdrawn the Karnataka Cow Slaughter Prohibition Act 1964 which is condemnable.  During the BJP rule, a Bill passed by both the houses of the legislature, but it did not receive the Presidential assent. We are not against the any party or religion. We fight against the slaughtering the any animals.

He said that  like Sikh, Jain, Buddhists’ religion, Lingayath also to recognize the religion and all the state governments and the centre should recommend the Lingayath religion.

Also Lingayath should be included in the constitutional recognition. National Basavadal, Basava Sena, Lingayath religion Vedike and others should make recognition of the Lingayath and on third week of January Convention will be held at Bangaluru.
