Udupi : Need solution for the people of Santhekatte, Gopalpura ward on official fish market here otherwise alternative arrangements. Presently fisher women selling fish at open place near the Kemmannu junction road rather not selling fish at newly constructed fish market at the cost of Rs. 10 lacs,  asked Chandrakanth Naik, Gopalpura Ward Councilor during monthly general meeting during question hour at Udupi City Municipal Council here on Thursday, 30^th November, 2017.

D. Manjunathiah, CMC Commissioner said that more than 3 months fisher women at Santhekatte made their business at newly constructed fish market at the cost of 10 lacs. Now since several months fisher women at Santhekatte selling fish at the junction of Kemmannu road which illegal. We informed them not to sell here. But these women not agree to move the fish market building which they argue that they are not able to make business over there due to crossing the highway. Commissioner said presently mutton stall and other stalls business going on there. But these fisher women denying make the business at newly constructed fish market. The ball is in Yashpal Suvarna’s councilor, and he can do to solve the problem. But Yaspal Suvarna did not gave the correct answer on the subject instead he pointed out problems in other fish markets in CMC areas.

Vashanthi Shetty said that the Street Vendors have become a headache in Udupi city that these street vendors’ carts are creating the members of public as well as vehicles. She demanded that CMC should control the increased street vendors’ carts. In reply, Manjunathiah said that within one month survey of all street vendor’s will be conducted. During next monthly meeting all details will be given to the council.

Yashpal Suvarna said that there has been a heavy traffic problem in the areas of city and need solution. Lot of chaos held between ruling congress councilors as well as opposition BJP councilors. Replying to the question,  Manjunathaiah said that the matter will be put with RTA and the resolution will be forwarded to deputy commissioner of the district.

In regard to establishing Indira Canteens in Udupi city limit, Yashpal Suvarna asks is it for that purpose the license from the CMC has provided to them or not. Commissioner said that regarding the Indira Canteens, it was decision taken in the state cabinet and the information sent to all districts commissioners for this purpose.

Shyam Prasad Kudva councilor said that during the Hindu Dharma Sansad in Udupi, two days there was no water supply in some part of city. Replying to, the engineer Raghavendra said that on the day of Dharma Sansad, there was technical problem occurred in Beje Dam. Immediately our staff took the repair work and overcome the problem without any shortage of water supply to the city.

Waste management, drainage issues, accounts of certain matters and other matters were discussed during the meeting. Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje President and Sandhya Tilakraj vice president were present.
