Udupi : Good governance, faculty and debtors honesty need better trading which can fuel the growth of any banks, Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister for State of Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment.

The minister in his address on Friday, 14^th December, during the centenary celebrations inauguration of Badagubettu Credit Cooperative Society at Ammani Ramanna Hall here, said that the scheduled banks go through all formalities with the papers and other, but cooperative societies see the face of the debtors during the sanction of loans. The Cooperative societies are the power to compete the nationalized scheduled banks. The Cooperative societies can give the loan without any difficulties.

During the nationalization of 20 scheduled banks in the country in 1969, out of twenty, four banks of undivided Dakshina Kannada district banks nationalized. In the present situation due to the various state staff working in the bank, the honesty and trading will be somehow difficult. Badagubettu Credit Cooperative Bank gave marvelous service for the people of Udupi since one hundred years which is appreciated. Under the leadership of Ln Dinakar Shetty, the Badagubettu Credit Society proceeding towards record achievements and hence got several national level awards, he said.

Sri Sri Vidyavallabhatheertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor Math blessed the occasion. In his address Swamiji said that in the present situation, the cooperation with the people one another will be decreased. There is selflessness increased. The cooperation between the people will lead the empowerment of the any banking societies, he said.

Very Rev Fr. Valerian Mendonca, Chancellor of Udupi Diocese and Parish Priest of Our Lady of Sorrow Church, Udupi released the centenary celebrations logo. Kota Srinivas Poojary released the newsletter special during the occasion. Dr. M.N.Rajendrakumar President of D.K. District Central Cooperative Bank symbolically released the Health Card during the occasion.

Maulana Mohammed Isayutulla Rizvi of Anjuman Mosque, Udupi, Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, President of Udupi district Cooperative Union, Dr. K. T. Channappa Managing Director of National Cooperative Development Corporation, Praveen B Nayak, official of cooperative societies, Purushottam P Shetty Centenary celebrations committee, Ganesh Rao, Murli Kadekar and other among were present.
