Udupi : Pramod Madhwaraj, District in-charge Minister, Minister for Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fisheries released the logo of Udupi Adventure Festival and Udupi Parba (festival) at Hotel White Lotus here on Friday, 15^th December, 2017.

After releasing the logo, Pramod Madhwaraj said in the press meet that Udupi Adventure Festival will be organized by General Thimmayya National Academy of Adventure in association with Udupi district Administration, Department of Tourism, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports, Nirmiti  Kendra and Malpe Beach Development Committee of the district.

Pramod Madhwaraj said that for the first time in Udupi district, the Udupi Adventure festival and Udupi Parba will be organized for three days from 29^th December to 31^st December, 2017. Moreover, the General Thimmayya National Academy of Adventure will be organize national level swimming in the sea, marathon, cycling, speed wall climbing, skateboarding and other adventure sports as well.

In order to promote tourism in the district, Udupi Parba and adventure festival is being organized. For the first time in the history of udupi district, First National Junior Open Water Swimming Championship will be held on 30^th and 31^st December at Malpe Beach. In Association of Udupi district administration, the championship is being organized by the Karnataka Swimming Association and Swimming Federation of India. The National level winners will be qualifying for the World Junior Open Water Swimming Championship to be held in 2018.

There are various entertainment programmes will be held like live show by popular drummer Sivamani will be organized on 29^th December at 8 pm at Malpe Beach. Magic Show by Prahlad Acharya, Alva’s cultural festival, Dog Show, photography contest, Musical night, Drawing and Cartoon contest, Wine festival, Scuba Diving Festival and so on.

There will be food stalls during the Udupi Parba which introduce the traditional coastal cuisine. An attractive fireworks display will be held on the concluding evening.

Dinakar Babu, President Udupi  Zilla Panchayat, Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje CMC President, Priyanka Mary Francis, Deputy Commissioner, Shivananda Kapasi Zilla panchayat CEO, Manohar Shetty official of Malpe Beach Development Committee, Purushotam Shetty of Hotel White Lotus, Anita of Tourism Department and Dr. Roshan Kumar Shetty  of Youth Empowerment and Sports Department were present.
