Udupi : Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur observed Confraternity Sunday which is also called Compri Fest on Sunday, 14^th January, 2018 with gaiety and devotion. The prelude to the annual parish feast celebration on Tuesday to Wednesday, 16^th to 17^th January, Confraternity Sunday celebrated with Eucharistic Solemn mass and Adoration.

Rev Fr. Joseph Rodrigues, Assistant parish priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Kolalgiri concelebrated the Holy Eucharistic mass with Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo-Rector of the Cathedral, Rev Fr. Rolwin Aranha and Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes Assistant parish priests, Very Rev Fr. Herald Mathias Superior of Pilar Fathers and Rev Fr. Nelson Furtado Vocational Director of Pilar Fathers, Rev Fr. Vasanth of Lucknow Diocese.

In his homily, Rev Fr. Joseph Rodrigues pointed out the importance of the Holy Eucharist around our family. The Eucharist has the greatest power possible to move the family to love and serve the Lord, to bring the good news of Jesus to all encountered. When family members are prepared to participate in Mass and receive Jesus in Communion, they are being formed into holy temples – sanctuaries of God. The Christian family is healed in terms of wounded relationships and emotions, be they spiritual, moral, or psychological. The Eucharist as a Sacrament of Presence will encourage families to reach out to others and to share this Jesus whom they have received.

He also said that families should come together to the table of the Lord as often as they can receive the indispensable grace that comes to us in the Eucharist. Family commitment to life is a necessary consequence of our union with our Eucharistic Lord.

At the end of the mass, Fr. Stany B. Lobo gratitude words for all concerned on account of the Confraternity Sunday celebrations and delivered announcements of the week. He also thanked to all the parishioners for their valuable contributions and love provided since seven years with great satisfaction and love.

After the announcements, Adoration of the Holy Eucharistic Sacrament was performed by Rev Fr. Joseph Rodrigues. Followed by Adoration, huge procession of the Holy Eucharis was held with devotion and gaiety. The procession culminated at Ozanam Home for the Aged premises where short prayers were held and blessings of the Holy Sacrament was held.

The vespers eve will be held on Tuesday, 16^th January at 6.30 pm onwards which begins with evening prayers. An annual parish feast will be held on Wednesday, 17^th January which begins with 10 am. The main celebrant of the Annual Feast Solemn mass will be Most Rev Dr. Jerald Mathias, Bishop of Luknow , UP and Milagres Cathedral parishioner.

Tulu drama will be played in the evening the festival day which organized by Milagres Friends at Milagres English Medium School ground. The vehicles parking will be arranged at Milagres English school campus during Vesper evening and festival day.
