Udupi : Block Congress organized protest rally in the city against raising prices of petrol, gas and diesel on Saturday, 10^th February, 2018.

The protesters gathered and took out a rally from Board High School along with camel, horse which is passed through service bus stand, Triveni Circle, KM Marg, Diana Circle, Court Road, Big Bazar and culminated at the War Memeorial, Ajjarkad.

Speaking to protesters, Sathish Amin Padukere, Block Congress President said that the Modi led NDA government at the centre has been looting the people that the government has profiteering at the expense of the common man. While international crude oil prices have come down, Modi government is filling up its coffers at the cost of common man and also Modi government has robbed several crores of LPG consumers in the country by increasing the prices of subsidized LPG cylinders. During the Congress government at the centre, it has maintained that despite international crude oil prices decreasing, BJP led NDA government increasing the prices day by day and looting the people at large. Amith Shah and Modi looting the people and profiteering at their expense and squeezing people’s hard earning money and that what is sole aim of the BJP government, he said.

Amrith Shenoy, Congress leader said that Modi during the electioneering made false promise to provide vast employment for the youths of the country. But Arun Jaitley said that by selling parkodas, youth can earn the money. What is employment guarantee for the highly skilled and educated people in the country? Modi also said during the electioneering, acche din aane wale hain. He questions by selling pakodas is called acche din. Since BJP has come to power in 2014, all promises became all false.

Janardhan Tonse District Congress Committee President spoke during the protest meeting. Women Congress activists helped to prepare and cook the vegetable pakodas through fry. Janardhan Bhandarkar welcomed and proposed vote of thanks.

Large number of congress activists participated during the rally with holding placards. Prashanth Poojary, Prakyath Shetty, Dinesh Puthran, Kishan Hegde Kolkebail, Ramesh Kanchan, Christan Almeida, Neeraj Patil, Sujarya Poojary, Veronica Cornelio, Roshni Olivera, Sunitha Shetty, Jyothi Hebbar, Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje, Sandhya Tilak Raj, Celine Karkada, Harmos Noronha and other among were present.
