Udupi : St Sebastian Ward, Thonse of Milagres Cathedral celebrated Ward Annual Feast here on Sunday, 11^th February, 2018.

The ward feast celebrated with thanksgiving mass for patron of the ward, St. Sebastian during 8 am mass on Sunday. The liturgy of the feast mass was held by Thonse Ward people. Very Rev Fr. Stany B Lobo Rector of Milagres Cathedral was celebrated the mass. Large number of ward people joined to offerings during the mass. After the mass, ward people took out brief procession of relic on the occasion of celebration.

There was get together of ward people held at Margaret Lewis, wife of late G. M. Lewis at Honnappakudru of Thonse ward. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo, parish priest and Rev Fr. Rolwin Arnaha, Asst parish priest, Sr. Daina of Rose Convent, Dr. Nery Cornelio Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council, Felciana Lewis Secretary, Jyothi Lewis, Gurkar of the ward and representatives of ward Ancilla Lewis and Praveen Crasta were present on the dais.

Fr. Stany Lobo appreciated the ward people under the leadership of ward head Jyothi Lewis for their outstanding performances in various fields like self help group etc., Fr. Stany Lobo also appreciated strong unity among the ward people and active participation of the church activities. He called the devotees to repent our sins especially during the Lent days.

Housie game was conducted by Renita Lewis. Some of the achievers of ward were honoured during the occasion.

Earlier after the invocation prayer, Jyothi Lewis welcomed the gatherings. Judith D’Souza placed the long report of the ward. Marina Lewis delivered the vote of thanks. Renita Lewis compered the programme. Fr. Rolwin Aranha graced the prayer on the dinner which prepared by the ward people under the leadership of Gurkarn Jyothi Lewis.

People of Thonse and Moodukundru ward, Gurkars of other ward of the parish and large number of ward people were present.

The Thonse ward fest usually held every year on Sunday before Ash Wednesday since several years which the tradition still be celebrated with unity and tradition. Formerly this ward of Thonse also called London Ward earlier years. One of the prime wards of Milagres Church, now several years ago become shorter due to some of the families migrated to city limits like Santhekatte, Manipal, Udupi and so on. Not only Thonse ward, some of the wards in remote villages areas now a days the families decreased in number neither one or two persons in the house. In fact, the number of devotees participating various feast of the church never decreased that large number of former parishioners do participate with faith and devotion to Our Lady of Miracles.
