WOMEN’S DAY OF  THE MAHILA DAKSHATA SAMITI, KAMANI, KURLA.

Under the Presidentship of Mrs. Anita Shetty, The Mahila Dakshata Samiti, Kurla, Mumbai celebrated their  Internatioal Women’s Day  on 8th March, 2018 at Pillai Chowk, Near City Hospital, Kurla, Mumbai-400 070.

Event began with lighting of Lamp from Family members from a small girl  to an elderly Lady.

The Organization honoured 10 Ladies from all over Mumbai  for their social work in different fields without considering cast and creed.   They are :

2)    Ms. Manali Ramchandra Gawali
3)    Mrs. Stella Rosario
4)    Mrs. Minal Sanjay Turde
5)    Mrs. Roma Khan
6)    Mrs. Yvonne Mark D’Souza
7)    Mrs. Rajni Chandrakant Pednekar
8)    Ms. Masrrat Khan
9)    Mrs. Devika Monteiro
10)    Ms. Lalita Pandit
11)    Mrs. Ophelia Simon Gomes.

Chief Guest  Mr. Bharat Bhoite, Sr. Police Inspector of Vinoba  Behave Police Station congratulated all Women.  He said in his speech, Gender equality is the first step to bring women empowerment.  We should not understand that women are made only to handle household chores or to take responsibility of home and family. Instead, both (men and women) are responsible for everything of daily routine.  Men should take care of women and cooperate with them for their career and other needs.  Women should also identify their strengths and abilities and move towards a world of empowerment. On the event of this Women’s Day, let us all promise to create a better world to live in.

Guest of Honour Madam Jean Gomes, congratulated all the women and appreciated the hard efforts put by the President Mrs. Anitha Shetty and honoured her with a flower bouquet.
Other Guest of honours were Mrs. Emretta Bhutello, Mr. Arshad Azmi (Corporator) and  Mr Afroz Mallik.  Mr. Arshad Azmi, in his speech congratulated all the Awardees and urged all the women to continue with their social work and be a role model to the needy and  less fortunate.  He said he is very proud to announce that  India is the first Country where we can see much social workers than other Countries.

President Sunita Shetty thanked one and all for supporting this event.

Beautiful ladies from different  Mahila zones entertained the crowd by their  Dance & singing.

Mrs. Arundati Gawde, Ms. Wendy &  Mrs. Faiza Ansari were the Hoists of the day.

Snacks packet distributed to all.  Moe than 500 Women participated in this event.
