St. Joseph’s church Belman Women’s day-Decennial Celebration

          We the women of Belman Parish celebrated our day on the 11th of March. The celebration started with Holy Eucharist at 7.30 a.m. Rev. Fr. Roy Lobo the asst. Parish Priest celebrated the Holy Mass. We thanked god for his bountiful blessings and care over 10 years of loving service, and for the growth in us. Rev. Fr. Edwin D’souza the parish priest had blessed us on previous day as he could not be present on Sunday on the occasion.

          After the holy mass Rev. Fr. Roy presided over the stage function. He highly appreciated women’s team spirit in the work of parish, society and in the family.

          Mr. Alwyn Agera the vice president, Mr Faustine D’souza the secretary and Sr. Pauline Saldanha the animator were the dignitaries on the stage, Mrs. Joyce Tellis was the M.C for the day and Mrs. Sunitha Noronha the president of the Association welcomed the gathering.

          Mrs. Benedicta Noronha the secretary presented a short report of the association.

          Mrs. Euprocin Agera was honored for bringing for the 11 children and settling them with good education. Miss Nivita Cardoza was congratulated for her success in “Karate” in India and abroad and gifted a shawl and wished her every success in the future.

          Mr. Alwyn addressed the gathering shortly saying women can spread the joy and contentment in the families.

          Sr. Pauline boosted up and thanked them for the role in the church and advised them to visit the families and have special concern towards sick, aged and wayward.

          The women staged an entertainment Dance by Swa. sahaya Group,  spot games were conducted. Mrs. Precilla D’souza graciously proposed a vote of thanks.

          This is followed by prize distribution and refreshment. Thus the short and sweet programme came to an end for which we are very grateful to God. We carry in our hearts the beautiful memories of this event.
